Temple Square is a 10-acre complex in Salt Lake City owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the spring and summer, the grounds are blossoming, and in the winter the trees are covered in lights and the grounds have nativities.
Temple Square welcomes visitors and includes many of the oldest and most well-known historic buildings in Salt Lake County including the Salt Lake Temple (built in 1893), The Beehive House (built in 1853), the Salt Lake City Tabernacle (built in 1867), and the Assembly Hall (built in 1882).
The Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City is a historic Roman Catholic church and architectural landmark. It was completed in 1909, and it’s known for its beautiful Gothic and Romanesque features, stained glass windows, and richly decorated interior. The cathedral serves as the mother church for the Diocese of Salt Lake City and hosts regular worship services, musical performances, and community events.
The Ladies’ Literary Club Clubhouse in Salt Lake City is a historic site that once served as a key meeting place for the city’s first and oldest women’s club, founded in 1877. This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and played a significant role in promoting education and cultural enrichment among women in the area.
