Where to Shop in Utah (Malls & More)

When searching for homes in Utah, it’s not only important to love what your home looks like but where your home is located. Schools, community centers, and recreation are all important factors in location. But maybe one of the most important, and certainly most underrated, is your proximity to shopping. While you may be living in Utah for its world-renowned recreation and stunning scenery, its shopping scene is nothing to brush off either. Based on where you call home, here is where you can find some of the best shopping in Utah:

SALT LAKE CITY

City Creek Center

A bird’s eye view of City Creek Center, a large shopping mall in Utah

Taking up two entire city blocks, City Creek is the crown jewel of Salt Lake City shopping in Utah. With over 110 stores, this mall features a naturalized creek that runs through the center of the mall. You can enjoy shopping here year-round, as City Creek has a retractable ceiling to either let visitors soak in the sun or stay dry from snow and rain.

The Gateway

The Gateway features a stunning outdoor art gallery and is home to more than just great shopping in Utah. You can enjoy other entertainment venues here, such as a planetarium, children’s museum, movie theater, and the well-known Delta Center.

Trolley Square

Built over a century ago for The Utah Light and Rail trolley cars, you can now find a converted shopping center (although you can still find preserved shopping cars!) here. At Trolley Square, you’ll find dining options, boutiques, and Utah’s flagship Whole Foods Market.

Fashion Place Mall

Fashion Place is the place for higher-end shopping, with stores like Crate & Barrel, Madewell, The Container Store, and Nordstrom, making it one of the most popular malls in Utah. This mall also hosts different community events and art exhibits throughout the year.

The Shops at South Towne

With over one million square feet of retail space, The Shops at South Towne are located in Sandy, just south of SLC. You can find popular brands as well as local retailers to shop from, and afterward, you can grab a bite to eat from one of their many restaurants.

Station Park

After opening 10 years ago, Station Park has become one of the best places for entertainment and shopping in Utah. Located right next to the commuter rail station, Station Park offers shopping, cooking classes, yoga, a health center, and a hotel to make it truly an all-inclusive experience.

UTAH COUNTY

University Place Mall

University Place boasts over 150 shops in the heart of Utah County, including stores like H&M and RC Willey. You can also enjoy great dining at places like P.F. Changs and stadium seating at their movie theater.

Provo Towne Center

In south Provo, you can find another traditional mall. Although smaller than University Place, this shopping center still has plenty of places to eat, small local stores, and is currently under construction to house a Target!

The Shops at Riverwoods

Don’t underestimate this smaller outdoor shopping center. You’ll find a variety of activities to do at the Riverwoods, as you can surf indoors at Provo Beach or host a wedding reception or fancy dinner event at The Manor at Riverwoods.

Outlets at Traverse Mountain

These are the only outlets in Utah County, and they’re located right in the middle of Utah County’s active tech hub. If you want to become a frequent shopper, you can join their Elite membership and receive exclusive discounts, earn points, and get VIP Lounge access during special hosted events.

Downtown Provo

If you’re looking for casual and eclectic shopping in Utah, head to Downtown Provo to browse through smaller shops and local eateries with a charming vibe.

This mall in Utah is the only indoor shopping center between Las Vegas and Utah County, which makes it a haven during the warm St. George summer months!

The Shoppes at Zion

This outdoor mall really has it all, with major retail stores, small local stores, and outlets all mixed together—there’s something for everyone!
