Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build 2016
EDGEhomes to build home for Provo family in eight days with Habitat for Humanity
(Orem, UT) September 14, 2016 –In an effort to give back to the community, EDGEhomes, Utah’s community homebuilder, is building a home for a Provo family with Habitat for Humanity.
Known as the Home Builders Blitz Build, a home will be completed within 8 days of the groundbreaking, which took place September 12th. This is the 25th year celebration of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz Build. The family receiving the home this year is the Morgan Family, a widowed mother of two, and very deserving of this home.
EDGEhomes owner Gordy Jones shares the reason why the company participated in the Blitz Build.
“Working with Habitat for Humanity is such an inspiring experience for all of us at EDGEhomes. We build dream homes for real people in our community. Building a dream home for Jennifer and her boys is what home building is all about. We are grateful for the opportunity to be involved with a great cause, a great team and an awesome community.”
With help from local subcontractors and suppliers EDGEhomes plans to build the three bedroom, two bathroom home in eight days. This is the second Home Builders Blitz Build EDGEhomes has built. The local construction company built a home with Habitat two years ago in Saratoga Springs.
“We are truly grateful to all those involved with this year’s Home Builders Blitz,” said Kena Jo Mathews, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Utah County, “Because of their kind and generous efforts, a deserving family will receive a ‘hand up’ through decent and affordable housing.”
The Ribbon Cutting for the home will take place on September 23rd. For more information on the Home Builders Blitz, contact Habitat for Humanity of Utah County at (801) 344-8527 or look online at www.habitatuc.org.
