EDGEhomes Helps Three-Year-Old Mack’s Wish Come True
(Orem, Utah) July 23, 2015 – EDGEhomes, along with the Salt Lake Home Builders Association and other builders will be showcasing beautifully built and decorated homes, some of which include Make-A-Wish wish rooms for children with life-threatening conditions. EDGEhomes’ wish room this year was designed for Mack who loves Thomas the Tank Engine (aka Thomas the Train.) Mack has end stage renal disease and wished for a Thomas the Tank Engine playhouse.
“Supporting the efforts of Make-A-Wish is an incredible opportunity to share with amazing kids,” Gordy Jones, EDGEhomes Managing Partner CEO said. “When you see the joy in the eyes of the wish kid, it is more rewarding than I can explain. These kids are awesome with huge hearts and they’re so grateful. It is truly a joy to give.”
“We are thankful for our supportive community,” said Jones. “We are rallying our network of friends, family, employees and subcontractors to make financial contributions to support Make-A-Wish.”
“Designing this room for Mack has been my favorite part of this house,” said Stephanie Holdaway, Gatehouse No. 1 designer. “Some of the fun highlights include a train track around the room’s perimeter, a giant Thomas mural, and brick walls that look like the inside of a train station. We also added a ring pull to the roller shades on the windows to imitate a train station ticket window, an oversized striped headboard that looks like conductor hat print, plus everything Thomas— from match games and dominoes to books and of course a lot of trains and tracks. It will be like Christmas morning when he sees this room for the first time!”
